Women Development Organization Hosts Training to Enhance Employability Skills for Women and Girls in OIC-Africa Countries

October 30-31, 2024, the Women Development Organization (WDO), in collaboration with SESRIC and other international partners, successfully conducted a two-day virtual training titled “Developing Women and Girls’ Employability Skills for Facilitating Labour Market Entry in OIC-Africa Countries.” The training aimed to strengthen women and girls’ capacities for labor market participation, fostering economic resilience and supporting pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

The event featured sessions led by experts from organizations such as IŞKUR, UNDP Türkiye, and KOSGEB, covering crucial topics from employability skills to entrepreneurship and policy advocacy. This training session, held in English with simultaneous translation into Arabic and French, included interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and valuable case studies highlighting success stories of women entrepreneurs from OIC-Africa member countries. The event underscored the importance of skills development, technical vocational education, and inclusive policies to create more opportunities for women and girls in the workforce.

WDO reaffirms its commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment across the OIC region, ensuring equal access to opportunities, and bridging the gender gap in labor market participation.
