WDO’s Executive Director Concludes A Visit To Afghanistan with The Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary-General

Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO), H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, concluded a visit to Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), with women’s rights issues in the country prioritized in the visit’s agenda.H.E. Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakhiet led the high-level delegation from the OIC General Secretariat and other OIC Institutions.

H.E Dr. Afnan held important discussions and meetings on the follow-up of the Resolutions adopted by the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on the situation in Afghanistan, especially those regarding women's rights. 

WDO’s Executive Director met with the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Minister of Propagation of Virtue & The Prevention of Vice. The Executive Director met with the Women’s Chamber of Commerce in Kabul, the Minister of Public Health, the Deputy Prime Minister of Political Affairs, and H.E Roza Otunbayeva Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan

Moreover, H.E met with H.E Rafaela Lodice, Chargée D'Affaires of the delegation of the European Union to Afghanistan and the OIC Member States Embassies and Missions in Kabul.

On the last day of the mission, WDO’s Executive Director met with the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Agh Khan Foundation, and the Malaysia Delegation.
