For her part, Dr. Ghada Waly emphasized on the important role that the WDO will play as the first specialized organization for the advancement of women in the Islamic Cooperation countries and convening the positive image of the effective role of women in achieving sustainable development and building societies.
The meeting had discussed the joint areas of cooperation and interest between the two organizations and the ways to promote, support and empower women and girls in the member states of the WDO, especially in light of the priority areas, including the protection of women from violence, criminal justice systems, assisting women in accessing justice, and women’s leadership in promoting peaceful and inclusive societies and the role of women in combating corruption.
