Rabat, October 13th, 2023 – The Women Development Organization (WDO), led by its Executive Director, H.E Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, signed on Friday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) to boost their cooperation on empowering and educating women and girls.
The signing of the MoU took place during ICESCO’s Celebration of World Mental Health Day event that took place at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
“Our work together will have a strong focus on girls' development, promoting peace, raising awareness about entrepreneurship and many other activities. We are fully aware of the importance of empowering girls and giving them access to the education and training opportunities and resources needed to achieve their success in different fields,” stated Dr. Alshuaiby commenting on the singing of the MoU.
The Executive Director added: “Through this partnership, we seek to provide a supportive and stimulating environment for girls to be able to achieve their ambitions and turn their innovative ideas into reality.”
The MoU aims to increase the cooperation between the two organizations in empowering women and girls by providing them with knowledge, training, technical assistance, financial resources, and more to help them in building their future.
To conclude her speech, Dr. Alshuaiby highlighted that she looks forward to joint cooperation and achieving positive and tangible results in empowering women and girls within a joint strategic framework between WDO and ICESCO.
