Cairo, March 8th, 2024 – On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, The Women Development Organization (WDO) launched a video in collaborations with leaders from all over the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, calling for an end to Violence Against Women (VAW).
The importance of ending VAW cannot be overstated, as it is a fundamental violation of human rights and a barrier to achieving women development. The video highlights the urgent need to address this issue and emphasizes the transformative impact that ending VAW can have on individuals, communities, and societies as a whole.
Ending VAW is not an option but an urgent imperative. It requires collective action, commitment, and a comprehensive approach that encompasses legal reforms, support services, prevention efforts, and societal change. By ending VAW, we build a society that values and respects the rights and dignity of all individuals. Let us work together to create a world where every woman can live free from violence and discrimination.
