Jeddah, November 8th, 2023 – Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO), H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, met on Wednesday with Advisor of His Eminence Sheikh Al-Azhar for International Students' Affairs, Dr. Nahla Al Saeedy, on the sidelines of the Women in Islam Conference in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The fruitful meeting saw WDO’s Executive Director showing interest in holding a dialogue with religious leaders to transform societal mindsets about women’s rights. The two parties also discussed the potential of designing cooperation projects to promote the role of education in the prevention of violent extremism.
During the meeting, Dr. Alshuaiby and Dr. Al Saeedy discussed the possibility of holding a joint event that aims to counter harmful practices and share best practices, in addition to elevating the status of women and girls in society.
