Strengthening the Role of Women in Preventing and Fighting Corruption
WDO under this pillar aims to improve the understanding of the linkages between Gender and Corruption and also build capacities of its Member States on how to mutually reinforce and mainstream Gender equality perspectives into their anti-corruption strategies, policies, and research agendas.
We believe that addressing gender dimensions of corruption and how it impacts women’s empowerment, can be an important element of the broader process of advancing women’s rights in OIC countries and will enable the design of effective strategies to combat it.
